More Reflections and Recollections to come

The biggest regret I have is the fact I lack the time & energy to achieve proficiency in all aspects of my musical endeavours. I’m faced with the fact that if I spent more time on piano & clarinet practice I might become a modestly reasonable musician. In short composition has become an extremely demanding mistress. That’s it really & I’m learning to live with that. To date I’m working on what will probably be four volumes CDs of piano music under the banner “Reflections & Recollections”. The first, Vol 1, is now available and Vol 2 Will be out early next year. Then will come Vol 3 & 4, perhaps a year in between. Although classical, this music easily fits in the easy listening music category, perhaps taking me back to the influences of Mantovani, Percy Faith & Peter Nero. THANKS DAD!!!! The subject matter is a reflection & recollections of my many life experiences to date, using subjects from my garden as references that trigger memories. This does not apply to every piece however. In addition to these piano pieces, I am working on a collection of eight orchestral works, which are at various stages of completion. More on these later. - Mark John McEncroe
